Using these without looking like a bot
The fastest way to make distorted text look cheap is to distort everything. A bio where every line is glitched reads as a template. One glitched line inside four plain ones reads as a choice.
The same goes for comments. Platforms weight engagement toward comments that look human, and a wall of combining marks trips the same filters that catch spam. If a comment matters to you, keep it readable and distort a single word.
Captions are the one place to be careful with length. Instagram truncates after roughly 125 characters in the feed, and since distortion doubles the count, a caption that looks short in the box can be cut in half on the timeline.
Where these tend to break
- Roblox in-game chat, which filters aggressively and usually returns hashes.
- Any username or handle field, on every platform.
- Older Android builds, which show boxes where a glyph is missing from the system font.
- Screen readers, which announce every combining mark individually.
- Search. Nobody will find a post through distorted text, so keep at least one plain keyword in a caption you want discovered.

Do I need an app or a special keyboard?
No. These are ordinary Unicode characters, the same kind emoji use. Copy and paste is all it takes on any device.
Will these work on every platform?
In name and bio fields, almost always. In username and handle fields, almost never, because platforms restrict those to plain characters. Roblox in-game chat filters them out too.
Why does my pasted text lose some marks?
Manual highlighting on mobile often misses the trailing combining marks on the last character. Use a copy button rather than selecting by hand.
Can I edit one of these lines?
Yes, though typing plain letters into a distorted line leaves it half converted. Paste the line into the generator, edit it there, and copy the finished version.
Is any of this against platform rules?
No. Unicode decoration is permitted everywhere we have checked. What you say still falls under normal moderation rules, and filters read the words underneath the marks.
Why do some of these show as empty boxes?
The device is missing a font for that character and falls back to a box. It affects older Android phones most. A lighter style usually renders everywhere.
